Frequently Asked Questions.
Quick answers to what most customers ask before ordering a service body.
What's the difference between Stahl, Royal, and DuraMag?
Stahl and Royal are both premium steel service bodies built for heavy commercial use. Stahl is known for high-end fit and finish — great for service techs who want a clean, professional look. Royal is engineered for tough daily abuse — contractors and tradesmen love it. DuraMag is our aluminum option — about 30% lighter than steel, which means more payload, and it doesn't rust. For coastal Florida work, DuraMag is often the smart pick. Honestly, all three are great — give us a call and we'll talk through what fits your job best.
Can I order a service body before I have the truck?
Absolutely — a lot of our customers do this. Just give us the year, make, model, and cab-to-axle (CA) measurement of the truck you're ordering and we'll have the body ready when your chassis arrives. It saves you weeks of downtime. If you don't know your CA, no worries — we can look it up.
How long does the install take?
A standard service body install takes about 3-5 business days once we have your truck. That includes mounting the body, wiring up all the lights, installing the locks, and any accessories you ordered (drawers, racks, ladder mounts, etc.). If you're in a real time crunch, give us a call — we can sometimes squeeze in priority work.
Single Rear Wheel (SRW) or Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) — which do I need?
It depends on what you're hauling and what truck you have. SRW (single rear wheel) is for smaller trucks like F-350s and Ram 3500s with lighter loads. DRW (dual rear wheel) is for F-450s, F-550s, Ram 4500/5500 — the heavy-duty trucks built for serious payload. The wheel config affects what body sizes will fit your chassis, so make sure you know which yours is before ordering.
Can you install drawers, racks, and other accessories?
Yes — that's a big part of what we do. Slide-out drawer systems, headache racks, ladder racks, partition systems, work lights, backup cameras, fuel tanks — you name it. Tell us how you use the truck and we'll spec it out so everything has a place.
Do you offer warranty on service bodies?
Yes. All our authorized brands come with factory warranties — Stahl, Royal, and DuraMag all back their bodies. We also stand behind our installation work. If something's wrong with the install, bring it back and we'll make it right.
What does a service body cost?
Honestly, it depends — brand, length, options, and chassis prep all factor in. A basic 8' SRW steel body installed is usually in one price range, while a fully-loaded 11' DRW aluminum body with drawers and a crane is in another. Send us a quote request and we'll give you real numbers within one business day.
